Ered was created in 1996 by Varnae, it was then called Ered Lithui. Later
joined the band Amor (female vocals), Inferi (guitars) and Draug
(drums,keyboards). Early '97 the band recorded one demo-tape called "Northern
Sky", but this work never was released because the sound was very bad and
not professional at last. After these recording Amor and Inferi left the band
when Shogoth, a talented musician who had worked together with Varnae in
some projects in the past, joined the band as a guitarrist and also a new
bassist arrives after a few days called Abyssal.

With the new line-up changed the name to Ered, and in the autumn of the year
'98 recorded "soulhunter", a perfect mixture of death and black metal with
powerful melodies and dark atmospheres.The demo was edited in cd and has very
good response in underground press in the country. Unfortunately few weeks after
our drummer and ourbassist/vocalist Abyssal left Ered. In these days, Varnae and
Shogoth composed new stuff, faster and agressive, but without loosing the dark
atmosferes and the essence.

In the year 2000, with a new member at bass called Lancestor, Regius (of
death metal band Nemesis Aeterna in collaboration) as vocalist and a session
drummer Ered enter at studio recording a two track promo cd. These songs was
"Bloodstreams" and "Monarch of a dying kingdom", profiling the band's sound
in a more extreme line, full of hate. Even thought the reviews in zines and
metal webs was a lot of possitive any label contact with us.
But the band don't stop and don´t change his dark sound, continue sounding
blaspheme in some compilations like Bloody zine and Atlantida compilations and
performing some gigs with a new vocalist (Etreum) and a new drummer that
abbandon his role time after.

2002
At last with the new line-up Varnae (guitars), Shogoth (guitars),
Lancestor (bass) and Etreum (vocals) Ered strikes back with a new release,
recorded at maxim sound studio with a session drummer, and produced by
Abyssal. It sounds great, hellish and true death/black metal with darkened
feelings and killer blastbeats. The new songs are "Dinasty of the Adversary",
"...Of Blasphemy", "Punishment", "The Shadowchant"...and more...
